Day 6: Connection does not need language

It is our Day 6 here in Battambang, Cambodia and the weather is getting colder and colder. We woke up a little bit late than we usually do because our session started at 9:30 this morning.

We had a lecture about stage management in the morning. We learnt the different steps in managing a circus show and we will have the hands-on activity next week.

During our break time, we had the chance to bond with the Cambodian kids. It is a good chance for us to connect with them despite of the language barrier. We realized that connecting with others does not require to speak the same language; it requires compassion and respect.

We had few changes in our schedule this afternoon. We were supposed to have Make up session but it was moved at 3 in the afternoon so that we could watch a theatre show about "the family". They used their own language "Khmer" so we could not understand their conversation, yet we understood the story through their acting.

We had fun learning the proper way of doing the make up for stage presentation.

" I thought putting make up is easy but with our workshop this afternoon, I realized it is very tedious. You have to know what you are doing because it enhances the beauty of a person. For me, I found it funny because everytime we do our show we put make up in just 5 minutes but here it takes them 1 hour to do that."- Faith
